What is the treatment?
Trying to address stress can help prevent or reduce the symptoms of IBS. Consider trying:
• Counseling. An expert can help you learn how to change your response to stress. Studies have shown that psychotherapy can significantly reduce the symptoms.
• Do relaxation exercises. These exercises help you relax the muscles in your body, bit by bit. Starting from the muscles in your feet, then focus on slowly to let all the stress go. Follow the waist and relax for your hips. Continue until the muscles in the body, including those in the eyes and scalp, are relaxed.
